My Teaching Style I use a structured, play-based approach to phonics and early reading, adapting each class to the child's age, level, and learning needs. My lessons combine sounds, actions, stories, games, pictures, movement, and reading activities so children learn by participating rather than simply memorising. I focus on building skills step by step - letter and sound recognition, correct sound formation, blending, segmenting, decoding, spelling, and reading. Regular revision and practice are included so children get repeated opportunities to hear, say, recognise, and use sounds. A child who is beginning phonics may need support with individual sounds, while a child with stronger phonics knowledge may be ready for blending, word reading, spelling, and decoding. I adapt each session to the child's existing knowledge and learning pace. My online classes are interactive and one-to-one, allowing me to observe the child's responses and adjust the activities or pace when needed. I aim to keep learning engaging while maintaining a clear structure and progression. My approach balances systematic phonics teaching with play, helping children understand how sounds work together and gradually apply that knowledge to reading and writing.
